Moldavites from Nesměň - Louka (translated as Nesměň - Meadow) represent a highly specific sub-locality within the historic Nesměň deposit system in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. In the specialized world of Czech tektite collecting, separating a find by its exact micro-location—such as Les (Forest), Pole (Field), or Louka (Meadow)—provides vital clues regarding the stone's preservation quality and surface evolution.

Because the meadow micro-locality features a distinct moisture profile and softer, grassy subsoils, these stones showcase a beautifully balanced middle ground between hyper-aggressive forest spikes and eroded field varieties.

Key Characteristics of Nesměň - Louka Moldavites:

The "Liquid Ripple" Sculptation: Unlike the hyper-sharp, jagged needle projections found in the nearby forest clay (Nesměň - Les), stones from the meadow sector typically feature a highly fluid, wavy texturing. They are covered in deeply etched but softly rounded channels, prominent ridges, and smooth, circular dimples reminiscent of liquid flow lines.

Exceptional Disc and Splash Forms: The Nesměň - Louka sector is highly valued for producing remarkably complete, aerodynamic flat circular discs, teardrops, and broad plates.

The soft meadow sediment layer prevented these elegant shapes from shattering upon impact or being crushed by heavy farming plows over the centuries.

Rich Bottle-Green to Olive Tone: When resting in shadow, these stones often look incredibly dark, almost black. However, when backlit, they pass light easily, revealing a luminous, vibrant deep bottle-green or saturated olive hue filled with rare, microscopic internal lechatelierite fluid waves.

Flawless State of Preservation: Because meadowlands are rarely subjected to the mechanical, rolling friction of agricultural plowshares (which heavily scratches and chips common field stones), Louka moldavites are frequently unearthed in pristine, near-mint collector condition.
