About Moldavites

Moldavites are rare, translucent green gemstones formed from a dramatic cosmic event around 15 million years ago. They originated when a massive meteorite struck what is now southern Germany, melting terrestrial rock and launching it into the atmosphere. As this molten material cooled and fell back to Earth, it formed glassy tektites scattered mainly across the Czech Republic. Known for their unique textures and deep olive hues, moldavites are prized by collectors and often associated with transformation and energy. Their extraterrestrial origin and striking appearance make them one of the most fascinating and mysterious natural materials on Earth.
