Moldavites from Lipí originate from a highly respected, historical locality in the České Budějovice district of South Bohemia, Czech Republic. Positioned near other prominent tektite-yielding zones like Habří and Kvítkovice, the Lipí locality is celebrated in scientific literature and high-end collector circles for yielding pieces with an extraordinary high glass luster and occasional, globally famous two-colored geological structural formations.

Key Characteristics of Lipí Moldavites:

.Radiant Apple-Green & Yellowish-Green Hues: These specimens typically exhibit a vibrant, highly translucent apple-green to light yellowish-green color profile. When backlit, they display incredible internal clarity with minimal cloudy inclusions.

Intricate, Deep Sculptation: The surface etching is rich and varied. It features parallel fluid-flow lines, deeply corroded channel networks, and occasional sharp, needle-like jagged ridges molded by ancient acidic groundwater.

The Two-Colored Tektite Phenomenon: Historically, Lipí is one of the exceptionally rare localities documented by Czech mineralogists where a two-colored moldavite was discovered. This occurs when two independent blobs of impact glass with slightly differing chemical structures and viscosities collided mid-air during atmospheric flight, fusing into a single multi-toned stone.
