A++ Grade Moldavite From Chlum #65 - 6,01g
Upgrade your crystals and gemstones collection with this chunky, almost square Moldavite with an incredible play of sculptation from the Chlum locality.
Moldavites from Chlum (specifically Chlum nad Malší) are the most famous, iconic, and prolific of all Czech tektites. Situated in South Bohemia near Ločenice and the legendary Besednice fields, the Chlum sand-and-gravel pit is the largest active moldavite mining operation in the world.
When people envision a classic, textbook moldavite, they are almost always picturing a specimen from Chlum.
Key Characteristics of Chlum Moldavites:
Vibrant Bottle-Green Translucency: Chlum stones are celebrated for their superb, bright bottle-green to light olive-green color. They possess a glassy interior with excellent clarity, making them highly reactive to backlighting.
Balanced, Harmonious Sculptation: The surface texture from this locality is highly aesthetic without being overly fragile. It features an even distribution of shallow pits, soft wrinkles, and medium-depth channels rather than hyper-aggressive spikes.
Classic Aerodynamic Shapes: Due to the nature of the soft sand layer preservation, complete primary shapes are frequently recovered here, including perfect drops, flat oval plates, disciforms, and rare "biscuits" (piškot).
