Upgrade your collection with one of the rarest tektites on Earth - the Frosty Moldavite. This chunky piece of nature's art was sourced in the famous Brusna locality and offers a very high frequency vibration energy. A truly one of a kind specimen, the beauty of which words can't describe.

Moldavites from the Brusná locality—situated near the town of Netolice in South Bohemia, Czech Republic—are among the most distinctive and highly prized specimens in the mineral world. While the famous Besednice deposits are known for sharp, spiky textures, Brusná moldavites are celebrated for their incredibly rare "velvet," "frosty," or "snowflake" appearance.

Key Characteristics of Brusná Moldavites:

The "Snowflake" or Velvet Surface: The hallmark of a Brusná moldavite is its completely matte, softly frosted outer texture. The surface looks and feels like smooth green velvet.Alkaline Soil Corrosion: Unlike the acidic soils that created sharp "hedgehog" textures elsewhere, the Brusná fields features a heavily alkaline environment devoid of flowing groundwater. Over 15 million years, these unique sediments corroded the glass, leaving behind a natural, white-tinted, matte surface layer.

The "Plesnivák" (Moldy) Effect: Locally in the Czech Republic, these distinct pieces are colloquially referred to as "Plesnivák" (meaning "moldy" moldavite) due to the powdery, whitish-grey film clinging to their deep grooves.Deep Channel Grooving: Beneath the velvety sheen, Brusná specimens typically showcase beautiful, sweeping parallel lines and deeply carved, channeled grooves.

High Transparency and Elongation: When held directly up to a light source, Brusná pieces reveal high translucency and a rich, deep bottle-green color. Elongated shapes, drops, and flattened "stick" forms are quite common to this site.

Collector Caveat: Chemical Alteration:

Historically, during commercial excavation phases (such as the prominent mining by the "Monday Morning" group between 2014 and 2017), these pieces were actually unpopular because of their dull, "dirty" white coat.

Many diggers and sellers acid-washed the stones in strong chemical solutions to dissolve the white matte layer, trying to artificially force a high-gloss finish. Today, the market heavily values natural preservation. Serious collectors actively seek out 100% untouched Brusná specimens that still retain their iconic frosty white, velvety character.

This piece comes safely packaged in a customised collector box filled with natural moss for protection with sunlight photos of the very piece taken from both sides, QR code taking you straight to the location where it was mined and a certificate of authenticity. Please see the illustration photos of the box and contact us for more customisation if interested in this collector grade piece.

Every piece we do at Lovedavite is 100% genuine and imported directly from Czechia, the country both us and them originate from.
