Moldavites from Malý Chlum are elite, highly collectible tektites found in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. While they belong to the same geological deposit footprint as the massive, globally famous Chlum nad Malší sand mine, the Malý Chlum sector produces stones with a completely different visual identity.

Because the soil composition in this specific sector contains different gravel dynamics, it yields some of the most dramatically detailed moldavites outside of the legendary Besednice fields.

Key Characteristics of Malý Chlum Moldavites:

The "Hedgehog" Spiky Sculptation: Unlike central Chlum stones, which are known for smooth, shallow dimples, Malý Chlum is celebrated for producing highly jagged, sharp-edged profiles (ježatý texture). They are densely covered in deep channels, sharp spikes, and dramatic protrusions.

Glossy Lacquer Finish: High-end pieces from this locality frequently exhibit an intense, glossy glass luster that makes them look almost black and freshly lacquered at first glance. 

Yellowish-Green to Bright Olive Tones: When backlit, Malý Chlum stones project a highly translucent, radiant yellowish-green or rich light olive-green color.
