Chlum is one of the most significant and famous moldavite localities in the South Bohemian region of the Czech Republic. Moldavites from this area are highly prized by collectors for their distinctive olive-green colour and rich, sculptural surface texture featuring deep pits and grooves. 

These stones typically exhibit a glassy, translucent structure with a "plastic relief"—a complex surface pattern of protrusions and grooves unique to the Chlum mining region.
